Homemade Mulled Wine – Glühwein (Glow-Wine) traditional German mulled wine made from red wine, heated with warm spices. It’s incredibly easy to make and it’s so cosy and delicious. Perfect for winter.

  • 1 (750ml) bottle of either Krooked Rows: 2014 Shiraz Sangiovese or 2017 Shiraz Grenache
  • 1 Orange sliced into rounds
  • 1 Lemon peel only
  • St Fiacres Mulled Spice pack.
  • Honey or Maple syrup may be added depending on your desired sweetness.
  • ¼ cup of Brandy or your favourite liquor – Optional but give it a good warm edge.
  • Garnish suggestions – Citrus Slices: Lemon, Orange, Lime
  • Cinnamon Stick, Star Anise for serving.

  1. Combine ingredients – add Krooked Row Wine, Orange & Lemon peels, St Fiacres Mulled Spice Pack, sweetener of choice, and brandy to a large saucepan.
  2. Stir everything to combine.
  3. Simmer on medium to high heat until it barely reaches a simmer. Avoid letting it bubble as you don’t want the alcohol to boil off.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15mins.
  5. Strain using a strainer, the spices & citrus peels. Test to ensure sweetness is to the desired taste.
  6. Serve in warmed heatproof mugs with your favourite garnishes.
